Office 365 - "We couldn't sign you in"

You may see the error below when signing into school resources on Office 365.


This can occur on both school devices & personal devices



We currently have a ticket open with Microsoft to work out the cause of this, as it appears to be a general issue with Office 365 which has been reported by other users online.


If you see this, please log a ticket with us (ITServicedesk@kenstimpson.org.uk) so we are aware and can assist if you get stuck, but the instructions below will get you going again.


We are hoping this issue is sorted over the coming weekend.



The instructions are for "Microsoft Edge" but if you using "Google Chrome" the instructions are essentially the same.



  1. Open the Browser and click on the three dots in the top right hand corner



  2. Scroll down to "Settings"



  3. On the page that appears, scroll down to "Reset settings" on the left hand side of the page



  4. Click on "Restore settings to their default values"


  5. Click on "Reset"



  6.  Once this has completed, close your browser & reopen - You will then be able to sign in normally.
