The Teams Interface

Modified on Mon, 14 Oct at 1:38 PM

When you first access teams you will be met by a welcome screen taking you through the basics of the system. It is worth while going through these slides and watching the video at the end to familiarise yourself with the system.

Activity

Here you will see notifications of things that are happening in the teams you are part of.  If a notification is directly related to you (you've been tagged in a comment for example) then a red dot will appear on this tab to alert you to have a look.

Chat

The chat tab is where you will have your general chats with your work colleagues. Think of it as a type of WhatsApp or Messenger.

Teams

The Teams tab is where you will see all of the teams you are a part of.  Some of these teams may be your classes and shared with the students you teach, others will be related to pastoral and admin tasks dependant upon your role within the school.

Assignments

Due to us running the educational version of Teams we also have access to the facilities for running homework through the system.  At this time we are not using this in favour of keeping all of our homework centrally in Connect.

Calendar

Here you will see all of your upcoming appointments.  This calendar is synced with your Outlook calendar and vice versa.

Files

Within your individual Teams, you will store and use files.  This tab gives you access to all of these files.

OneNote

This tab links to your personal OneNote - an online version of a notebook.  In here you will be able to keep your notes together and accessible from anywhere you have internet access.
